September/October 2032 Birthdays & Anniversaries

September 2032 - Granite Falls, Washington

 

 

It's Julie Lloyd's 68th birthday and so her son Blake surprises her with a trip to Granite Falls, Washington. Julie has been to California to visit her oldest son Jason and his family, but never to Granite Falls, which she had read about and dreamed of visiting.

Blake also brings along his girlfriend Jennifer, and Julie isn't upset about it. Jennifer is a nice girl and she knows Blake loves the idea of having her keep him company while his parents explore the national park.

She does keep Blake plenty of company, as William finds when he accidentally walks in on them in the shower.

Julie explores the area around their rental house one afternoon and finds a little path into the mountain. It's overgrown and so would be easy to miss, but she's curious about where it leads.

And so she goes in, immediately fighting between the panic of getting lost and the curiosity of what's ahead.

She comes across a man who lives in the tiny house hidden in this part of the forest. Julie keeps herself poised to fight back if she needs to, but he is friendly and gives her directions on how to get back to the main part of the park.

But for a while, she sticks around, listening to him tell her about life here in this part of the country. The more he talks, the more she finds herself dreaming of a life like this. Relaxed countryside, spending as much time as she can outside fishing or gardening or maybe even just sitting on the porch and watching the birds and squirrels move around the trees.

Julie says good-bye and finds her way back to the campsite. William is there throwing horse shoes outside the rental cabin. "Where have you been?" he asks when she joins him.

"Figuring out what I hope to be doing for my next birthday," she says with a wide smile.

October 2032 - Pine Hollow, North Carolina 

This day is just not going how she planned. Jill finds herself getting annoyed by her customers at the gym, no one really listening to any advice she gives. Why is she even trying anymore? Does anyone care about their health?

It's their anniversary, and Marcus had plans for a trip to Arcadia to eat a romantic dinner at The Willow, but she's just not feeling it. So they go for a walk around their neighborhood and Jill lets out all of her frustrations.

"I'm sorry," she says when she's finished another round of letting it all out. "I'm ruining our anniversary, I know."

"Don't be afraid to let out everything you're thinking," Marcus tells her. "It will help you relax and get out some of that frustration you're feeling."

"You know, you are still the sweetest guy I know even after all these years," Jill tells him.

"And you're still the hottest girl I know," Marcus says. Jill laughs in response at his flirtatious grin.

I decided to skip ahead a bit in my blog posts. I'm currently playing the summer of 2033, but my posts here were just beginning 2031. There aren't really any big events happening in my Sims's lives between the time of the last post and this one, but I will post some little bits on my Tumblr to show some things. There are some big things that do come up starting in this round beginning in fall 2032 so I'm excited to move ahead and show them.
