Phoebe Gates keeps checking the local help wanted ads to see if there's anything she might be interested in. It's been a year since she and Dee moved across the country to Del Sol Valley, California. Phoebe has been taking online college courses to get her associates degree in music production.
And that's what she dreams of doing. Phoebe loves playing her keyboard and Dee loves to listen when she does it, but the thought of being behind the scenes and putting it all together, working with the musicians to get their work out in the public really grabs her.
But Del Sol Valley is a much bigger, busier city than little Arcadia, North Carolina.
And so she's been doing any part-time jobs she can find while she looks for the right place to start her next part of life.
But Dee tells her that it's okay. The perfect job will come along and she'll be able to do what she really dreams of.
As long as she has Dee at her side, everything will be okay.

Menon family - Sarah is 74, Jason is 65
It's Christmas season and so Kids Play Toys is staying busy. Sarah is spending her days helping customers and recommending purchases. She likes talking with her customers to find out what they might be looking for.
And she loves spending her nights with Jason, quiet evenings at their house. It's cold right now, some days even colder than others as winter draws near, but they still sit outside sometimes when they can. It's nice to go ahead and enjoy every time they can before the heavy snow comes.
But one day, Sarah just isn't feeling well. She gets out of bed, trying to get herself moving as usual to start her busy day.
Jason finds her in the floor, unresponsive.
A heart attack, he's told. The love of his life dies from a heart attack one morning just before Christmas.
Sarah's son Ian and his family come from San Myshuno to mourn with him. They help him get the funeral arranged. The days feel wrong, nothing like what he knows.
Sarah's brothers Zane and Zared come into town too for the funeral. Zane tries to talk with Jason to let him know he'll get through this, even though Zane's heart is broken too. Sarah was the older sister who helped take care of her little brothers. They've lived so far apart for many years now, but he would talk to her on the phone any chance he had.
Now things just won't be the same and the family will soon all go back to their everyday lives, and Jason isn't sure what he should do next.

I didn't plan for Sarah to die! Actually it was woohoo that killed her, lol. She was just too old to handle all of that and still get satisfied. ;)
And she wasn't even satisfied in her final moments. Poor girl.
I like playing Dee and Phoebe together. They're so sweet, young, and excited about this new life across the country and trying to follow their dreams. I have it that Phoebe is finding getting into music production not an easy dream because there are already so many people working in the music industry in this busy city, so she'll have to wait a little before she can break into that field. Dee is working in social media, trying to help spread the word about the musicians and actors and supermodels in this city. I also really like their apartment. I have a building set up as "apartments" that they live in, with roommates as the people renting the other apartments. Theirs is a studio apartment, just one room with the bed, kitchen, everything right there. It’s not exactly full of open space, lol. Maybe they'll move into something bigger as they grow and make more money, but for now I love where they're staying in their young life together.
And even with the unexpected death in this update, I'm also borrowing Laura’s plan for health strikes against my Sims using ROS. Hoping she doesn’t mind. :) This round the health strike is going against Phoebe. Just her first strike, so she had only a few sneezes that she attributed to allergies.
Awww..poor Sarah, and poor Jason. What a horrible thing to happen no matter what time of year. Phoebe and Dee seem to get along beautifully and give each other support which is always needed. Finding a job isn't all that easy particularly in the field you want. Wishing them luck!
ReplyDeleteI was so sad about Sarah's death. Never planned, I thought she still had a few years left in her life. I had to fight hard to decide whether to go along with it or quit the game without saving, lol.
DeleteOf course I don’t mind you using the health strikes! Not that your sims need any help in killing themselves lately! I’m a little jealous, actually, lol! My sims rarely even come close to dying. I must be playing them too carefully!
ReplyDeleteBut in seriousness, very sad for poor Jason and the family.
I love that age that Dee and Phoebe are at right now, too. How exciting to be at the start of everything! They’re so sweet. How will you decide when it’s time for her to get her break in the industry? TS4 careers are so easy, I’m always trying to find ways to make it harder on them!
My Sims seem to be deciding the length of their lives without my input, lol!
DeleteI haven’t figured out yet when Phoebe might get into that field or how she’ll get her foot in the door. I need to work out some plans for jobs like this! I kind of miss TS2’s method of only having a few jobs available when checking the computer. Maybe I’ll have to start doing a random number generator and decide which numbers give the break into that field and which mean a delay.
Oh no, Sarah! And not even good woohoo, at that! I wasn't expecting that!
ReplyDeleteA teeny apartment seems realistic for a couple in their early 20s living in an expensive city (I assume Del Sol Valley was intended by EA to be Sim Los Angeles!) Hopefully, Dee and Phoebe can save up for something bigger one day.
