Lucas Craig is finishing out his last year of college at PSU, but he lives with his family off-campus in the house he and Andrea have just bought. He and Andrea got married in a small ceremony right after their baby was born. Lucas isn’t yet working full-time, but Andrea still does acting jobs and brings in the money they need to raise their son Elliott.
Lucas didn’t imagine being a dad so early in life, but he’s found that he loves spending time with Elliott.
Elliott doesn’t always want to listen. Sometimes he just wants to sit on the couch and watch TV without interruptions.
Andrea tries to make a cake since it’s Lucas’s birthday.
She doesn’t have much experience in baking, however, and starts a little fire after the cake is removed from the oven.
“I’m sorry I’m ruining your birthday,” she tells Lucas once the fire is out. It didn’t cause anymore damage, but they will need a new oven.
“You haven’t ruined it,“ Lucas tells her. “I just want to spend the day with you and Elliott, without worrying about work or school. And that’s what I’m doing.”
Andrea smiles as she watches Lucas pick up Elliott in a hug. “Happy birthday, my love,” she tells him.
