"You don't have to cook breakfast for me," Lily tells her dad.
"I want to," Logan says. "It's your birthday and my girl isn't a little girl anymore, but I'd like to pretend she is before she heads off to another country."
"Don't be too upset about it," Lily says when they sit down for breakfast. "I can still call and text. And video chat."
Logan frowns. "It just won't be the same. Everything is changing."
Logan tells his girl to stay home on her birthday rather than working out at the restaurant with the rest of the family. Ethan comes over to see Lily in the quiet house.
So it’s just the two of them…
They enjoy more than just a nap in her bed. Although Lily is excited to go to Windenburg, she’s sad that they’ll be thousands of miles from each other in less than two months. She vows to spend every moment they can together this summer.

This was a sweet birthday for Lily. Moving away from everyone has got to be hard, and I feel for Logan too, because it's hard when kids grow and everything changes.
