Enjoying the Sun

August 2029 - Oasis Springs, Nevada
Richard family - Dewey is 33, Anna is 33, Piper is 4, Landon is 1

Days are busy for Anna and Dewey. They moved across the country to Oasis Springs two years ago, after Madison and Bryant talked them into it. It’s been a ton of new memories and a change in their lifestyle, but it’s been worth it.

Dewey and Anna both have jobs they enjoy and a family they enjoy even more. Their family has grown to now include little Landon, who was born just after their move. He’s already being spoiled very early in life.

And Piper is still being spoiled. Anna was nervous at first after Dewey was abducted and then unexpectedly had this baby. But Anna has raised her as her own, which Piper is and always will be. And she still keeps the secret along with Dewey about where Piper came from. Because they won’t allow anyone to step into their lives and try to do any experiments on their daughter. Piper is just as human as anyone else and will always be seen that way.

Landon adores his big sister and wants to follow her around the house. But sometimes Piper tells him to leave her alone so she can play by herself.

But then other times, she’s happy to play with him. She’s in that phase of childhood when she changes her mind on the way she wants things to be often and at any moment.

One afternoon, Dewey brings up an idea to Anna.

“We’ve both had a year of hard work and success in our careers,” he says. “It’s almost time for the new school year and you’ll be even busier then. So why don’t we take a much needed vacation?”

“What kind of vacation do you  have in mind?” Anna asks.

“A vacation on the beach, so we can relax and the kids can play in the sand and water.” He gives her a big grin. “I’ve already looked at plane tickets and places to stay in a place I know you’ll love.”

Anna jumps and lets out a loud cheer when they get to Sulani. She’s never been here and even though it was a plane trip to the other side of the world with two young kids, it’s worth it.

Anna and Piper go swimming right away in the warm, clear water. This beach is like nothing Anna has ever seen before. The water is so much clearer and she can see down to the sand below.

 

Dewey plays with Landon while Anna and Piper swim.

Landon has fun helping his dad build a sand shark. Dewey did most of the work of course, but he cheers for Landon doing such a good job.

Then they go out to the water to play right at the shore.

Landon loves his first visit to the beach!

When Anna is back on shore to watch Landon, Dewey takes a little boat out for a short trip into the water. He doesn’t really know how to use a boat, but this makes him feel like a real sailor.

 

After swimming, they decide to grill lunch at a little pier set up along the beach.

Everyone else sits at the table, but Landon goes toddling off. Dewey watches him from the background to make sure he doesn’t get into any trouble.

But Landon isn’t looking into trouble, just looking for the perfect place to eat his burger.

 

"Really good!" Piper tells her mom as they eat. "Can we move here and eat burgers every day?"

Anna laughs. "Tempting, but we have friends and family back in Oasis Springs waiting for us to come home." 

 

The sunsets in Sulani certainly are worth watching while relaxing.

 

Dewey and Piper go swimming with the dolphins as the sun sets one day.

 

It’s certainly an experience they love and will never forget!

 

Anna stayed out in the sun too long and got a little bit of a sunburn. It hurts, but at least it’s not as bad as the guy who burned himself while trying to show off a routine using a stick on fire.

Dewey tries out some fire dancing one of the locals taught him and thankfully he doesn’t get burned.

It’s been a great vacation, definitely worth the money in plane tickets and a vacation house. Soon it will be time to start back into normal life but this time away has been a very relaxing break.
