July & August 2033 Birthdays & Anniversaries

July 2033 - Del Sol Valley, California

It's the last night that his girls will be so little, George thinks as he reads Elliana to sleep. Tomorrow is their fifth birthday and he knows already that they're changing and growing out of the babies they've always been to him.

He never thought he'd be this attached to being the dad of two baby girls, but he wouldn't change any of it. The tantrums, yes, but everything else has been days and moments he doesn't want to forget.

The birthday party comes so quickly and George still isn't ready for it. But they've put the cake on the table in the open yard behind their townhouse and before he can fully grasp the moment, it's time for the girls to blow out the candles.

They already are so different. They're both excited about their party and so ready to play that they don't eat more than a few bites of the cake.

Dorothy put out a big bucket of water balloons for the kids to play with on this hot summer afternoon. 

Ethan and Mona are there with their kids and Lucy loves playing with the twins. Although she's not happy whenever she misses hitting them with the balloons.

The girls, however, love to tease her as much as they can now that they're officially "big kids" according to their definition.

In another part of Del Sol Valley, Viola Menon quietly celebrates her 50th birthday. Why does the time keep flying by? It seems like only yesterday she was young and starting her adult life after college. She wants to keep feeling that way. So she spends her birthday on the back lawn, stretching and doing her daily yoga routine as the city comes to life behind her. Gotta keep her body good shape to keep that young feeling, she tells herself.

August 2033 - Sulani

It's Charlotte's 23rd birthday. She's only been gone across the world for two months, but Marcus and Jill have missed her so much. 

And so they book a flight to Sulani to celebrate her birthday with her.

Charlotte has missed them very much too and so she's excited to show them around the new home she's still discovering each day.

A visit to the beach, of course. Every vacationer goes to the beaches all around the islands. Charlotte gets a text from Adam that distracts her while her parents take in the new sights here.

They find a local deck where they can watch some of the sea life close to the shore.

And of course, they spend time laying on the sand and looking up at the stars as night falls around them.

"So this really is your dream life come true here?" Marcus asks later that night. Jill is exhausted from the time change traveling across the world and so she's asleep in Charlotte's bed while they eat a quick meal together.

"Absolutely," Charlotte tells him with a wide grin. "This is everything I want to do here. I mean, I miss you and Mom, and Lucas and Adam. But I really think this is where I'm supposed to be. I love my job, I love the islands, I love the life here."

"I miss you too, baby girl," Marcus says. He gives her a big grin. "But if you want to stay here, I give my approval. It's a good excuse to fly out to Sulani any time I feel like it."

Charlotte laughs at her dad, enjoying some time with him again. It's going to be hard to say good-bye when they fly back home, but she's glad they came out here to celebrate her birthday with her.

There are a whole lot of July/August birthdays! I never planned that when I was assigning birthdays, lol.

I usually age up toddlers when they turn four, but my skipping ahead in my play made me miss Anaya and Elliana’s fourth birthday. So I decided to add it in here for their age up from toddlers to kids.
