Following the Dream

October 2029 - Del Sol Valley, California
Lloyd family - Jason is 42, Lilly is 41, Jacob is 8, Mia is 8

“Good luck with your audition today,” Mia Lloyd tells her mom at breakfast.

“Thanks, baby girl,” Lilly says. “I’m nervous. I hope I can make it through without messing everything up.”

“You’ll be the next big star,” Jacob assures his mom. “Then I’ll have to ask for permission from the security guard just to talk to you.”

Lilly laughs. “I don’t think I’ll get that famous just from this little show I’m auditioning for.” But she did hope so. It has always been her dream to get up there in fame, and she’s still holding out hope that it will happen.

And her audition that day leaves her both nervous and hopeful.

It would be her dream come true to walk among all those lights in the city and have people recognize her, telling her how good she is in her career. She can only keep hoping that might happen one day soon.

Lilly is beyond thrilled when she finds out that her audition gets her a new part in a small movie currently being filmed.

It doesn’t matter if it’s not a movie people will run to the big screen to see and instead it will go straight to a TV station that likes to play these Victorian era movies. What matters is that she’s one step closer.

Maybe it won’t come right away, but she’s sure the stardom she’s dreamed of will come soon.

“To celebrate,” Jason says, smiling wide at his wife. “Your success and more to come.”

“Your success,” Lilly tells him. “You’ve got a lot of good things coming your way.”

“We both do,” Jason says.

Moving across the country to Del Sol Valley seems to be bringing them closer to their dream goals.

It’s Halloween and so the house is decorated with spooky decor.

And the family dresses up to celebrate the day. Mia decides to dress differently than the rest of her family and wears a hot dog costume instead of Star Wars themed. She’s not a Star Wars fan.

Halloween doesn’t stop Jason from having to repair things around the house.

Jacob can’t resist the bowl of candy on the coffee table.

But the bowl can resist him and sprays out a green mist when he tries to grab a piece.

That spray doesn’t stop him from eating candy anyway.

When they go out trick or treating, Jacob spots the haunted house at the park and tells his sister that they should go inside.

“No way!” Mia says. “I’m not going in there!”

“It’s not scary,” Jacob says. “It’s for babies.”

“You go in there then,” Mia dares him.

Jacob won’t let his sister make fun of him for chickening out, so he walks in, holding his head high as if nothing can scare him.

But maybe he was wrong about that. He comes out, holding one hand to his chest and too startled to even say anything that makes sense.

Mia is glad she didn’t go in there!

They run back home, trying to get away from that haunted park. Jacob sweated so much after that fright that now he has smelly fumes coming from inside his costume. So Mia runs even faster, trying to keep from catching that stink on her own costume.

When I checked to see if Mia wanted to go into the haunted house, this was an action available. LOL!! That’s one way to get back at a haunted house for being too scary, even though it's charging her $10.

Why isn’t there another Star Wars themed costume for kids? The only one I found was Yoda. Why couldn’t there be an Ewok costume? Or a child’s size costume of any character?

Lilly’s performance did help her move up to the next level in her career!

Being a tech guru gave Jason the chance to be profiled by TechMunch on their blog and get his name out there.

I hadn’t originally planned on taking screenshots of notices about promotions and things like this. But I found that my Sims just had so many events and promotions while going through the households that I could not keep up in the time between playing and posting them here! I had to start taking screenshots of the notices so I could remember them later and decided to place them into updates too.

A note on playing:

When I moved into Sims 4 and created new versions of the Sims I’ve been playing in TS2 and TS3, I didn’t make all of my adults start over their careers at level 1. I took in the skills and promotions they had earned in TS3 when I had recreated them in that game. I then added those skills and career levels into creating them in Sims 4 (using the MCCC mod). So they started this TS4 version of themselves already at a higher place in their careers. Those who earned a college degree in TS2 or TS3 have also had their degrees added to their TS4 selves through the cheat that lets you do that. Just wanted to add in a note on why Lilly is already at stage 6 in the acting career when this is only the second time I’ve played her, and only a few days at a time!

  1. Ha, Mia as the hot dog! I love an individual!

I gotta say, I find the gameplay of Get Famous sort of repetitive but I do really enjoy seeing the different sets and costumes they use. I don't think I'd seen this one Lily was in, so I'll have to look out for some period dramas for my famous sims to star in!

    1. I like seeing the different sets too! There are some I’ve seen in other people’s pictures that I haven’t done yet in my game so I’m interested in my Sims doing those scenes too.
