It’s Nathan and Terri Gates’ anniversary. Nineteen years. Nineteen long years. Nathan thinks they can start out their anniversary with a trip back to the bed after breakfast, but Terri isn’t having it.
She’s nothing close to a wife now. She never has been, in Nathan’s opinion. Of course, she would say he’s never really been a husband.
Instead of time with her husband to celebrate their marriage, Terri invites over a friend of hers. Phoebe is not happy to see that because she knows her parents and what they do.
Nathan has a few things to say about this “client” Terri invited over, but she doesn’t care about a word he says.
But anything Nathan says goes unnoticed. Terri insists she and her client need to meet privately to talk about his needs.
She really is “meeting” with this client.

Oh, gosh, what an anniversary! Not to be a downer, but I kind of hope these two just split up and go their separate ways. If they only got together because of their daughter, I don't think they're doing her any favors by staying together.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it may be that they've gotten to the point that they should accept it's just not working out. Phoebe is about to move on to the next point in her life and won't be relying on her parents for everything, so they really don't have that as a reason to keep up the happy family mask anymore.

LOL, yikes, Terri and Nathan are such a mess! I agree that they'd probably be happier if they just split up. But there are always those couples who just stay together, for no apparent reason, and just keep making each other miserable. Terri and Nathan might be one of those couples!
ReplyDeleteThey are entertaining to watch together with their changing attitudes toward each other constantly, lol. Sometimes they're in love and want to woohoo with each other, other times all of their interest is on other people entirely. They never have made up their minds about how they really feel, lol!
