“You’d think I would know how a pregnancy will feel throughout the months,” Anna tells Dewey. “I gave birth to Landon, after all. But I feel like I’m just not getting along as well as I did before. Taking care of two kids and myself and my students is a lot to do!”
“You’re doing a great job,” Dewey tells her. “You’re beautiful and smart and a perfect mom and wife.”
Anna closes her eyes as he lifts his hand to her cheek. “You’re so sweet. But I wish I could believe all of that.”
“Come on with me,” Dewey says with a grin. “I’ll prove to you that you’re the perfect wife.”
