January 2030 Birthdays & Anniversaries

Waylon Menon is up early as he usually is, even on weekend mornings. Always a lot of work to do.

Viola finds him staring at the computer screen in deep concentration. “Happy birthday, darling,” she says.

“Oh,” Waylon says, remembering what that day is. “Thank you.”

She smiles wide, giving him a flirty wave. “Come on, I’ve got a birthday present for you.”

Her “present” is a great way to really start the day away from the computer screen.

Viola has reserved a table for their lunch at one of the upper class restaurants in Del Sol Valley.

It’s a favorite restaurant of Waylon’s and so he’s happy to order his favorite plate, all at Viola’s insistence that he spoil himself today.

And Viola orders Waylon’s favorite pound cake for dessert.

At home, Baine calls to wish him happy birthday. “Thank you,” Waylon tells his son. “Hey, maybe you could take a weekend trip out here to visit? Or I could come to the university.”

“Yeah, sure,” Baine says, though he doesn’t really sound interested. Waylon took custody of his son when he was a small child after his mom Tammie passed away, and yet they still don’t have a real relationship with each other.

But Viola tries to take his mind off those concerns since it is still his birthday. They relax in their hot tub, overlooking the city below.

“I hope your birthday was everything you needed,” Viola tells him.

Waylon moves closer, pulling her to him. “Everything I need is right here with me. Thank you for every day, my love.”
