June 2030 - Pine Hollow, North Carolina
Gates house - Xander is 40, Chelsea is 40, Caleb is 18, Olivia is 17, Bianca is 11
The art gallery is doing really well these days. Chelsea was nervous about how she would handle it after her in-laws passed it on to her, but she gets happier each day when she opens the doors.
She sells a lot of the paintings inside the gallery, most often her own and Belinda Smith’s paintings and photos too, but she does find other artwork at great prices that she can display or sell in her gallery store. There’s nothing Chelsea loves more than talking about art with a customer and selling them a great piece. Well, that’s not true. She does love her family more, but art comes in a close second.
Out in town, Caleb goes to show off his comedy routine. He’s been practicing and practicing. This is one of his biggest dreams in life, being onstage and making people laugh.
Except that he doesn’t make them laugh this time. He suddenly can’t remember any of his jokes when he gets in front of that microphone. The more he stammers, the more he forgets and the more embarrassing it all becomes.
Caleb is feeling humiliated and disappointed and angry at himself after he bombs his debut comedy routine.
“Don’t even tell me how terrible I was,” Caleb tells Emily. “I can feel it.”
But Emily pulls him right into a hug. “You’re the best comedian I’ve ever seen.” She kisses him and then says, “You’ll do even better every time you get on that stage.”
“I think our project should be a study of aloe plants and their help to humans,” Olivia tells Atticus and Alisha. They’ve gotten together for a summer project they’re doing for the agriculture group they belong to.
Her teammate Atticus laughs. “You would pick such a simple project.”
“What’s your brilliant idea, genius?” Olivia snaps.
“We should research the rare types of cheese across the world and what makes them different among the cows and goats that are raised. What kind of cheese is being produced in places like Windenburg? What do the people in Sulani do to have cheese, if they do at all?”
Olivia and Alisha, who is Atticus’s sister, stare at him in silence.
“Cheese?” Olivia finally says. “You want to research cheese?”
“I’ll do the research,” Atticus says, taking over the computer. “I don’t trust you two to get all the true data.”
“Then why did you even get into a group?” Olivia asks. “If you’re going to do it on your own, you don’t need us around.”
“You can go sit in another room while I do the work,” Atticus says.
“You think you’re really something, don’t you? You’re above all the rest of us?”
“You said it, not me.” Atticus grins.
“You two should think about being more than just presentation partners,” Alisha says. “You’re just alike with that arguing.”
Olivia and Atticus stare at each other silently for a long time.
Finally Atticus says, “I don’t think so.”
“That’s not happening,” Olivia agrees.
Just across the street, when Emma Lloyd is not working at her toy store she loves to visit her twin sister Audrey.
And Emma always helps in any way she can. Baby Evelyn is inside for a nap, but Emma can see that her sister is exhausted.
“I feel really old having another baby now at forty,” Audrey says.
Evelyn lets out a loud cry inside the house and Emma gets up before Audrey can. “You relax,” she tells her sister. “I’m an expert at being a mom, so I’m giving you a break right now.”
Audrey sighs and smiles at her sister. “Okay. Thank you.”
Emma grins. “I don’t mind. I love babies!”
Zoey is seven years older than her cousin Beatrice, but they are close to each other. They are the only girls in this family living in Pine Hollow because their cousins Ava and Piper both live on the other side of the country in California and Nevada.
But it’s okay. They can have fun together, especially during these summer days when they don’t have school taking up their time.
They may be in completely different age groups, but Zoey still loves being a kid for a little while with her cousin.
“I’m trying to find some new hobbies to keep me busy while your mom and Blake are working,” William tells his son. “Yesterday I started learning knitting from your mother-in-law.”
William texted his son, asking if he wanted to meet up for lunch. Seth knows his dad is lonely at home during the day, so he agreed to spend the lunch hour together.
“Are you really into knitting?” Seth asks. “You haven’t ever been interested in making clothes and blankets.”
“It’ll help pass the time,” William says.
“Last year you learned baking,” Seth says. “And then flower arranging, playing the guitar, video game competitions. Now knitting. Are you having a hard time finding the hobby you really like?”
William shrugs. “I’ve had to try out a few things to find what I’m called to do. I think knitting is the way to go.“
“I’ll believe you when you knit me a new sweater,” Seth says.
William nods with a grin. “Deal.”

My first of combined family posts. There were some extra things in original posts, but they either weren’t important to the storyline or were just random photos. Some may show up in other posts or will be posted on my Tumblr. Not all posts will be combined like this. Some will still be just one family in a post, depending on what their storyline is like at that time.
Emma was thrown out of Audrey’s house for cooking lunch, lol. How unappreciative Audrey is!
Caleb at his comedy show reminded me of an episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia where Dee does an open mic night and bombs in the most cringeworthy way! Poor Caleb! At least Emily was supportive afterwards. He'll get better.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when sims get thrown out of close relatives' houses for doing really normal things that no one in real life would care about! I've got half a mind to give all my sims that trait that lets them do whatever they want at other sims' places, lol.
I wasn’t expecting Caleb’s terrible performance, lol. I felt so bad for him when he gave that dad look. It’s a good thing Emily had gone out with him so she could make him feel better.
DeleteI need to give my Sims that trait so they can really spend time with family and close friends. It just doesn’t make sense for Audrey to throw her twin sister out!
