Happy New Beginnings

November 2030 - Arcadia, North Carolina
Gates household - Nathan is 41, Terri is 41, Phoebe is 19

"So you think that's really what you want to do?" Dee asks one afternoon.

Phoebe nods. "Do you think it will be the wrong path to take? Will it all actually work out?"

"I believe you can do anything," Dee assures her. She hadn't imagined that Phoebe might want to become a music producer. Maybe a musician, since she loves playing her instruments, but being the one behind the scenes putting it all together for other people hadn't crossed her mind.

But Dee really does believe that Phoebe can succeed in whatever path she takes--even if it's a path that takes them far away from Arcadia and Pine Hollow.

"You really do think so?" Phoebe asks, still sounding nervous.

"I know so," Dee assures her.

While Phoebe is with the girl who has stolen her heart, her dad Nathan has a few different ladies who have stolen his heart.

 

If his wife is still going to mess around with random men around town, Nathan believes he can have his own romantic times with the ladies he meets.

Lloyd household - Ian is 41, Kayla is 31, Matthew is 17, Sasha is 13

It’s New Year’s Eve and Kayla decides she can’t pass up hosting a party at their apartment.

Even Matthew has a good time dancing in the living room.

The ball soon drops and the new year begins. Kayla blasts the plastic horn she bought as loud as she can.

The night is cold and so she slips her jacket on long enough to run outside and look at the fireworks soaring overhead in the starry night sky.

“Happy 2031!” she shouts out to the neighborhood around her.
